DG releases single ‘Dope (Feat. Beenzino)’

Rapper DG (aka Beatbox DG) has released the single ‘Dope‘ featuring Beenzino who is currently doing his military service.

DG produced the track himself, giving it a detailed drum line and a jazz sampling. The result is a luxurious-sounding beat on which the artist raps about diligently doing his thing. Beenzino recorded his verse before entering the military and thus raps about his feelings and expectations of his service.

DG and Beenzino formed the duo Hotclip in 2009 and released ‘HOTCLIP MIXTAPE Vol. 1‘ for free. The two artists continued working together: DG featured on Jazzyfact‘s ‘각자의 새벽’ together with Dok2, then, after he served in the military, the two collaborated again. This time Beenzino featured on DG’s ‘You Fools‘ off his album ‘OVERCOME’.

After ‘Solo Gang‘, this is DG’s second single this year. And if you’re a fan of Hotclip, you will definitely enjoy it.

Sanchez releases mini album ‘Colour’

Seven years after his debut, Sanchez is finally releasing his first mini album full of his ‘Colour (감성)’.

In March, Sanchez pre-released the track ‘5분만 더 (5 More Minutes) (Feat. Beenzino)‘, showing his skills as an urban R&B vocalist and producer.

Going back and forth between South Korea and New Zealand for about four months, Sanchez worked on the six tracks that make up ‘Colour‘. They sequentially tell of the emotional changes between two lovers. The artist included his own experiences in the lyrics.
While the pre-released song featured Beenzino, the album further includes featurings by Highlight’s Yong Jun-hyung, and Sanchez’s brother Microdot.

Now, Sanchez’s music concentrates more on urban and ambient sounds, and he swiftly switches back and forth between singing and rapping, strengthening his position as a multiplayer.
To top it off, he participated not only in creating the music but also the cover art and music videos. Do enjoy this album that is thickly painted in Sanchez’s colour.
