Balming Tiger Drops Debut Studio Album “January Never Dies”

| , ,

In a bold move that’s set to redefine the boundaries of K-pop, the avant-garde collective Balming Tiger has released their debut studio album, “January Never Dies.” The project, which has been eagerly awaited by fans and industry insiders alike, showcases the diverse talents of all its members: Omega Sapien, sogumm, Mudd the student, bj wnjn, Leesuho, Unsinkable, San Yawn, and Chanhee Hong.

The 14-track album boasts four pre-released singles, with “SEXY NUKIM (feat. RM of BTS)” making a significant splash by clinching the top spot on Billboard’s ‘World Digital Song Sales’ chart. Other pre-releases include the evocative “Trust Yourself,” the haunting “SOS,” and the energetic “Kamehameha.” The inclusion of collaborations with RM of BTS and contemporary artist Sungsil Ryu, aka Cherry Jang, only amplifies the album’s magnetic pull.

Diverging from the norm, “January Never Dies” isn’t just about fitting into established molds or societal standards. Instead, it’s a clarion call to embrace self-love and march forward with unwavering self-belief. The group’s statement encapsulates this sentiment perfectly: “This album is a testament to our collective spirit, where each member’s unique flair converges with overarching themes, resulting in a harmonious burst of cosmic energy. It’s a cherished piece of art for us.”

Balming Tiger – “Moving Forward” (official music video)

Coinciding with the album’s release is the music video for the standout track, ‘Moving Forward.’ Directed by the acclaimed Japanese director Pennacky – a two-time winner of the ‘Music Video of the Year’ at the Korean Hip-hop Awards – the video is a condensed version of a short film titled “Moving Forward: The Movie.” Fans can anticipate the full-length film hitting Korean theaters later this year, with Balming Tiger members taking center stage.

But that’s not all. The group has two more music videos in the pipeline, one of which is helmed by their very own Leesuho. The album’s striking artwork, a brainchild of Milan-based illustrator GOODNEWSFORBADGUYS, adds another layer of intrigue. With JNKYRD overseeing sound production, Norman Nitzsche mastering the tracks, and the DooRooDooRoo Artist Company managing the ensemble, the album promises an unparalleled auditory experience.

For those looking to get their hands on a physical copy, pre-orders are now live alongside the digital release. A range of exclusive merchandise accompanies the CD, ensuring fans have a tangible piece of this monumental project. And for the die-hard Balming Tiger aficionados? The “January Never Dies World Tour” is on the horizon. Spanning continents from Europe to Asia, the tour kicks off in early November, with tickets up for grabs on the group’s official website.

As of 6 pm KST today, “January Never Dies” is available on all major music platforms. Simultaneously, the “Moving Forward” music video has premiered on Balming Tiger’s official YouTube channel. Dive in and experience the revolution that is Balming Tiger.
