Cha Cha Malone to speak at SXSW on “How Korea is Influencing Global Pop”

|

AOMG artist and producer Cha Cha Malone (Chase Vincent Malone) will be leading a panel discussion at South by South West (SXSW) surrounding the rise and influence of South Korea on global pop music.

Cha Cha Malone’s involvement in the Korean music scene came to fruition when he began producing for his friend and label-mate Jay Park on tracks like “Bestie” and “Speechless” (2010) before moving onto larger projects New Breed (2012), Evolution (2014), and Everything You Wanted (2016).  Together, they’ve created award-winning music that have charted at the top on iTunes and Billboard.

Beyond his collaboration with fellow AOMG members Jay Park, Loco, HoodyUgly Duck, and ELO, Cha Cha Malone has produced for several Korean artists such as Dok2Brian Joo, U-KISS, B1A4Kara, Shinhwa, Red Velvet, and Hyolyn.

Cha Cha Malone will be one of two hosts for the upcoming SXSW discussion panel titled “How Korea is Influencing Global Pop” which will explore and analyze the successful and ever-thriving K-pop industry (compared to global pop which have been “crippled” by the digitalization of music).  This will lead to a discussion on how artists can utilize the strategies that allowed the Korean music industry to remain successful.  For more information on this panel, visit the official SXSW page.
