Better than Yesterday (Apologies and Updates)

| , ,

It’s been a while.

Firstly, I want to apologize for my unannounced hiatus.  My new job at the pharmacy has kept me on my toes this entire summer.  Classes are starting next week, and I’ll be moving into my new apartment in two days.

Why the hiatus?  It’s not because I lost interest in Korean hiphop music.  In contrast, I discovered many talented K-hiphop artists over the summer (Baechigi,  MC Sniper, MC BK, Zenio 7, etc).  I guess I needed to step away from DYKHH for a little while to refuel my passion for this website.

What can you expect from this point on?  Rather than posting translated Korean articles all the time (which for me felt like working for allkpop…), I plan to start incorporating my own thoughts/opinions and recommendations for Korean hiphop music.  However, I will still translate Korean articles that I feel are important for the readers.

In retrospect, I feel that there is absolutely zero interaction/discussion in this blog.  I feel that DYKHH will thrive only if it grows into a community rather than a news site.  That being said, if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, feel free to post!

With this, I give you MC Sniper’s Better Than Yesterday:

  1. Hi there —

I have been a silent reader for quite some time but I felt that it’s time for me to say something concerning your post.

I am more than thankful for your efforts in translating the articles concerning Korean Hip Hop. I have a lot of interest in the genre but I don’t have anywhere to go for authentic news about K-hiphop because everyone who translates only does so for Korean pop news.

When I found out about this website, I thought, “Finally I can read English news about K-hiphop!”. Thank you so much for your efforts, and since I subscribed all of your posts, and they go right to my email, I will always be supporting and reading your blog.

    Thanks again for your efforts!

  2. Hi there! Just wanted to say I hope you keep this site going. I’m on a journey of discovery with Korean hip hop right now, and would love to find out more information (there is just not enough out there!) and meet people to share with. (:

  3. Thanks so much for your support! My goal is to continue translating Korean articles and posting original content to deliver important Korean hip-hop news to readers like yourself. I moved into my new apartment last week and still don’t have internet which is becoming a huge hassle. When my internet is back, I’m hoping to get back on track.

    Thanks again!

  4. Hello Keax,

Thank you so much for your support. It’s very rewarding to have people follow this website for people in search of good Korean hiphop music. DYKHH will be back soon! Thanks again!

  5. I’m much like Bunny and Keax,
I’ve been a silent reader for a while now, and you’ve also introduced me to a lot of new artists as well.

I hope you don’t mind too much if I post it here, but I have covers of Dok2, Outsider, Sunzoo, Drunken Tiger and Primary (Most of my covers aren’t Hiphop though) I plan on doing more very soon, I just need to find some more Hiphop songs that have awesome basslines.

I wouldn’t have any of those Hiphop covers if I didn’t visit your blog, because I’d be totally unaware of them.

  6. Hi SourChicken,

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment here. Funny thing is that I have watched a lot of your bass covers in the past! It’s rewarding to hear that DYKHH has introduced you to K-hiphop artists. Hope you stick around! Thanks again!
