Independent rapper Jolly V has dedicated her latest single, “Dear Mama,” to all the mothers and daughters in this world.
Jolly V writes: “My new single #DearMama is released!
As a daughter who didn’t really follow the ‘right way’ society speaks of, this sense of guilt grew on me while living in Korea, where living a ‘normal life’ is considered as fulfilling your filial duty. I felt like I wasn’t a good daughter. So I started writing a song about it.
On the way though, I got curious and wanted to hear stories from other moms and daughters. This song was realized thanks to all the moms and daughters who shared their stories, Chunho’s beautiful guitar and bass, @repenteve‘s more-than-enough trust and creativity, brotha-from-anotha-motha @xenomix89, and @spritualengraver polishing up the song to perfection.
