Yoonmirae - Gemini 2 (album cover)

Yoonmirae releases ‘Gemini 2’ LP and ‘You & Me (Feat. Junoflo)’ MV

Queen Yoonmirae returns with the full-length album ‘Gemini 2‘ and the music video of the LP’s title track ‘You & Me (Feat. Junoflo)’.

16 years ago, Yoonmirae released her second album, the ‘Gemini’ LP. With its rather heavy atmosphere, the album is nothing like its successor. ‘Gemini 2’ is much more laid-back, handling topics like love, breakups, peace, and comfort.
Various black music genres are included in the LP, perfect for Yoonmirae to show off her rapping and singing skills. Rather than being over-stimulating, she does so in a sober and honest way that makes the songs easy to listen to.

As usual, the album is a joint effort of the FeelGhood Music family: Tiger JK and Junoflo contributed their voices and writing skills, Zoey Cho, Jason Park, Konquest, and Ann One helped out with the music production.
Further support comes from Double KH1GHR MUSIC‘s WOOGIE, rookie singer-songwriter WHO$, and veteran producer Loptimist. Producer team Blaq Tuxedo, who’s worked with Ciara, Omarion, and Chris Brown, produced the R&B soul track ‘Peach’. Korean-American hip-hop artist Jaeki Cho (aka JKey) and producer plusNONE remixed ‘JamCome On Baby’.

Drunken Tiger - YET (cover art)

‘YET.’ single and music video pre-released off Drunken Tiger’s tenth LP

The final album of Korean hiphop’s legend Drunken Tiger is slowly coming to light. This pre-release, ‘YET.‘, was produced by Loptimist.

This pre-release off Drunken Tiger‘s tenth full-length album is a hiphop track that will not only satisfy his fans but also the new generation of K-hiphop fans. It is an autobiographical track; Tiger JK raps about all the hardships he has been through. After ‘Feel gHood Muzik: The 8th Wonder’ (2009), Tiger joined hands with producer Loptimist again.

Since his debut in 1998 with ‘Year of the Tiger’, he has convincingly conveyed many things through his unique way of storytelling. His goal was to emphasize that “hiphop is not only a fleeting trend, but music that is based on people’s experiences.” For this new song, Tiger experimented a bit, working with taepyeongso player Wan-gyoo Kang. Feel Ghood Music’s talented women Ann One and BIBI supported him in the chorus.

Drunken Tiger’s previous nine albums were all valuable records of life. Even during painful times like suffering from myelitis, or facing a conflict with his label, Tiger JK kept going straight ahead. And so, he is steadily going his way. If anyone, Tiger JK stands representative for Korean hiphop.
In the 20-year-old Korean hiphop scene, he has been making music for 18 years. Aside from the substantial meaning of this two-digit number, his albums ruled the hiphop scene and drew the public’s interest to it. When Drunken Tiger first appeared, at the end of the century, people saw a truly drunken tiger. And now, he is going back to “the time when the Tiger was rapping.”

Bizzy - What's Up Hyung (cover art)

Bizzy asks ‘What’s Up Hyung’ with new single and MV featuring YDG

After a (solo) break of one year and five months, Bizzy is back with the single and music video ‘What’s Up Hyung‘ which features his longtime friend YDG.

The title track of Bizzy‘s single features the unique and outstanding YDG. The two artists have been friends for twenty years. Star hiphop producer Loptimist, who is responsible for countless hit songs, has created a classic hiphop track for the two friends.

In the single’s first track ‘그날’ (lit.: that day), Bizzy raps about his feelings after the final stage of SMTM6 in his charming, mellow baritone.

The third track ‘6 Cypher’ is the producer cypher of this year’s season of Show Me The Money (minus ZICO and DEAN’s parts). The mind-blowing line-up and the cypher video were so popular that fans requested an official release for the track. The producers agreed on it to be included in this single.

Loptimist - Yam Scene (cover)

Loptimist releases single ‘Yam Scene’

Loptimist has released his new single ‘얌신’ (Yam Scene) on March 30.

The title is an abbreviation of the two Korean words ‘얌전하다’ and ‘신나진다’ which means mild and fun and describes the track’s atmosphere. Loptimist asked his fans on Facebook for their opinion and chose the title together with them.
The point of the track is that it begins with a calm sound and then changes to strong drums and synthesizer. Vocal samples that can be heard throughout the track make the listening experience more fun.
‘Yam Scene’ has no lyrics, which makes the listener concentrate more on the beat, and it is the curtain raiser for more of Loptimist’s producing work.

Credits

Composed and arranged by Loptimist
Synthesizer by Loptimist
Bass by Seo Jung-woo
