Jclef debuts with single ‘multiply (prod. by dnso!) (Feat. FR:EDEN)’

| ,

Singer Jclef has collaborated with her parcelo crewmates dnso! and FR:EDEN for her debut single ‘multiply’.

Someone sings about the universe in their songs, someone else about their ideals, but Jclef receives her inspiration from reality and unleashes it into her music.

In order to realize their dreams, unknown musicians like her need money to survive. Her debut song is about the daily life of trying to ‘multiply‘ that money.
While working part-time, Jclef sits “on a table where there are no customers” and checks her phone. It is full of updates from her “friends who have a job” and they wear “golden brooches with the name of the company they work at.” Those friends sometimes say that they envy her: “You’re doing what you enjoy.” However, the life of a musician actually exists only on this formula of survival: hourly wage x time x number of days.
Hiphop artists mostly say that working part-time is “self-disrespect.” Yet, to Jclef, multiplying that money means surviving and it is necessary for her to realize her dreams. “In order to sing of her dreams, intangible clouds,” this money formula is inevitable for her.

In ‘multiply’ Jclef expresses the sense of shame she feels due to inconvenient opinions like that and hopes that people will reconsider those kind of prejudices.
