Singer-songwriter jeebanoff has released his third mini album, ‘Panorama (주마등 : 走馬燈)‘, today.
jeebanoff debuted in early 2016 under the name ‘jeeban’. For his first mini album ‘so fed up’, he changed his artist name and in the following released his third EP, ‘for the few.‘, and fourth EP, ‘Karma‘. The album was the first he released under ‘goodtomeetyou‘, an indie label founded in July 2017.
Last year, ‘for the few.’ was nominated at the Korean Hiphop Awards and its title track ‘삼선동 사거리’ (lit.: Samseon-dong intersection) won the Best R&B/Soul Song Award at the Korean Music Awards.
This March, jeebanoff performed three of his songs for Naver On Stage and featured on Hippy was Gipsy‘s second LP, ‘Language‘. About a month ago, the singer pre-released the song ‘Good Place‘ off this new mini album.
So far, jeebanoff has been faithfully creating music based n his personal experiences about daily life or relationships. However, in ‘Panorama‘ he does not only tell his own stories but also gets creative as he puts himself into the shoes of others. Similarly, the sounds and their genres are clearly different from his previous releases, with a more experimental arrangement. The pre-released ‘Good Place’ served as a transition to these changes.
jeebanoff proves that he is not bound to the trend, but a “woke” artist who is not afraid of challenging himself for the sake of improving. In order to express the album’s sounds and stories adequately, he planned trailers for all tracks and even travelled to Taiwan to film them. Watch the trailers below!
This album is different, more solemn, as jeebanoff tells stories from deep within his heart.
