Verse 1)
Ridin’ round town in my Bentley
I don’t even remember the last time that I slept well
For some reason, I think that
tonight again I will probably have red eyes at 4 am

I mean dawn, yes in the morning
Who knows, cause the world seen
with bloodshot eyes is a bit different
The temperature is low but both of my hoodie’s sleeves

are rolled up because of the fire inside me
Due to this society’s rule that tells me to put out this fire
I am stressed out, I clench my teeth
Right now, I am a small human

put in front of an unidentified monster
Just watching from afar, arms crossed
I’ll be the food of the hyenas that are going to attack me
when they think I am about to fall down

That cannot happen, so I get back on my grind,
back on my hustle, the only things I can trust are my eardrums
and my intuition. So go get yours, I’m a get mine
Let’s not frown uselessly

One gentleman to another,
this is the situation I want
but is it too big of an expectation for my relationship with you guys?
Even the structure of ‘one human to another’ is collapsing

That’s how I’m feeling inside
Lord knows how I’m feeling inside
So, I roll the windows up in my Bentley
I come to the conclusion that there is no answer

Having really pointlessly set foot into a cockfight, I am afraid
that even I might become a chicken, I have to snap out of it again

Verse 2)
Not much has changed, except for the license plate
What I see when I look out of the window as I drive aimlessly
sometimes becomes the topic of one of my lyrics
And sometimes I hold my middle finger up

at anti-social drivers. Still, I light one up for((This and the following paragraph can be found in ‘My Audi (feat. The Quiett)’ as well – translated lyrics))
Yoo Jaeha in my Bentley
I drive to Dongdaemun to buy
South Korea’s best Kebab((The store has apparently closed down*)) or Korma in my Bentley

Jeff Buckley, Suede and Sade in my Bentley
Pharrell, Dilla, Kanye in my Bentley
My Bloody Valentine in my Bentley
Sister’s Barbershop’s ‘Reminiscences’ in my Bentley((The second album of indie rock band 언니네 이발관 (Sister’s Barbershop) is titled ‘후일담’ (Reminiscences) ))

I honestly have no idea how many corners
I have turned until I got to this place here((This is a similar sentence structure to the one he used in ‘Got to Be U (feat. SIJIN)’: “I don’t know how many corners I have turned until I reached you” – translated lyrics))
The little child who bugged his parents
until he could jubilate at the electric guitar in his hands

and the thirty-something songwriter
who absolutely needs cognac to fight the headaches and loneliness when he’s working
I honestly have no idea how many corners
I have turned until I got to this place here

I honestly have no idea how many corners
I have turned until I got to this place here

Samuel Seo releases ‘Kafka (feat. Verbal Jint)’

Samuel Seo has released new single ‘Kafka (feat. Verbal Jint).

The track ‘Kafka’ was inspired by Samuel Seo’s desire to portray the alternating perspectives that arise from one’s situation or environment. ‘Kafka’ also expresses Samuel Seo’s various thoughts and musical ideas. Verbal Jint, a progressive artist who does not settle into one specific genre, adds further flavor into the track.

Samuel Seo and Jun Beck produced the track, Boostknob mixed and mastered, Dawooni Park was in charge of the artwork, and Advvventure was the visual director.

Verbal Jint - Go Hard Part 1: 양가치 (cover)

Verbal Jint – Where It All Started (Feat. Beenzino)

Warning: NOT suited for minors.

Intro x4)
[x_extra info=”popover” title=”Fact” info_trigger=”hover” info_place=”top” info_content=”‘시발’ (shibal, meaning ‘start’) sounds like the Korean word for ‘shit/damn’, which is correctly written ‘씨발’ (sshibal) but often also written ‘시발’ (shibal), giving this line a second meaning: ‘Damn starting point’ That is why he laughs in this intro.”] Start, starting point[/x_extra]

Verse 1)
Hello, twenty-year-old me, you’re not the least bit interested
in economics, so why did you join that department?
That’s probably why you think that you’ve blown your college life
and you’re not even interested in the famous lectures

of the best professors of Korea
However, if you just vaguely kill time in a daze,
you will regret it. You’re not a high schooler
I don’t want you to do anything that makes you feel sorry

towards the future you. Your rap on the radio
a few weeks before the SAT, which was praised by [x_extra info=”popover” title=”Fact” info_trigger=”hover” info_place=”top” info_content=”Korean hiphop team active from 1997-2001 who did gangster rap”]Gangtholic[/x_extra],
was quite impressive. Well, I can’t put my finger on it and don’t know
if you could be called a genius, but you seem to be rather talented in that direction

See, there’s no one else who raps as classily as you
On top of it, someone who has tried a great variety of music like you
is literally [x_extra info=”popover” title=”Reference” info_trigger=”hover” info_place=”top” info_content=”to Verbal Jint’s song ‘희귀종’ off the same album. The Hanja literally mean ‘rare’, ‘precious’, and ‘species’.”]a rare species[/x_extra]
Dig into it deeper! It could be that after a few years

you will have become someone like a big tree
in this scene, who knows? Now, you
likely won’t feel that way at all. Of course,
it can be difficult on your own, so go to a place

where people get together who have the same hobby
You’ll discover a world you haven’t known of until now
And after about two years, you release an album
I strongly suggest [x_extra info=”popover” title=”Fact” info_trigger=”hover” info_place=”top” info_content=”Verbal Jint’s EP from 2001″]’Modern Rhymes'[/x_extra] as title

Hook)
My worn-out notebook was filled to the brink
with rhymes. At that time I didn’t understand them
but I learned and mastered the original
lyrics and flow using CDs I had purchased with difficulty

My worn-out notebook was filled to the brink
with rhymes. I have seen the impossible, one
after the other, change into reality
It is still the same now

Verse 2: Beenzino)
Ayo, wassup, sixteen-year-old Lim Sungbeen?
You want to get out of here quickly, right?
At Munho-ri in Seojong Township, Yangpyeong District, Kyeonggi Province
the only thing you can see are the ridges between rice paddies, and

it has a boonies vibe with nothing but mountains and rivers
Inconsistent with that, in your ears [plays] [x_extra info=”popover” title=”Fact” info_trigger=”hover” info_place=”top” info_content=”Verbal Jint’s EP from 2001″]’Modern Rhymes'[/x_extra],
[you’re wearing] a 3XL plain t-shirt and a black do-rag
that you bought in Itaewon, pants with a waist of about

Modern Rhymes,

34 or 36, you’re lookin’ for a dirty bitch
However, of all things, your girlfriend is a Catholic who wants to preserve her virginity
Catholic, but you want her to lick your dick
Don’t be greedy again, you haven’t even kissed before

34 or 36, you’re lookin’ for a dirty bitch
Catholic, but you want her to lick your dick

Do not lose one thing: the peace of your mind
There’s no need to hurry that much, man
Because when there is something you really want, and it is nothing you force upon yourself
but it is something true to you, then you will obtain it

잃지마 한 가지 peace of your mind

Don’t mind the rappers you envy and the well-off hyungs
and keep up your vibes
Because when there is something you really want, and it is nothing you force upon yourself
but it is something true to you, then you will obtain it, yeah

의식하지 말고 계속 keep up your vibes
