Feel Ghood Music

A Feel Ghood Interview with Tiger JK, Yoonmirae, Bizzy, Ann One and Junoflo at SXSW 2017

During the 2017 SXSW Conference and Festivals, I had the opportunity to sit down and interview with Feel Ghood Music artists Tiger JK, Yoonmirae, Bizzy, Ann One and Junoflo, who poured out their energy and moved the crowd of Korean music fans at K-Pop Night Out held at The Belmont.  We discussed topics including the globalization of Korean hip-hop music, the difference between Feel Ghood Music and Ghood Life Crew, as well as exclusives from each artist on their upcoming music.

BewhY, “I’ll be making music that will land on Billboard Charts” (Canada Tour 2017)

On January 21 and January 27, independent Korean hip-hop artist BewhY held his very first Canada Tour in Vancouver and Toronto, respectively.  Check out his response to our interview questions, as well as photos and videos of his concert!

How did you find the audience in North America compared to those in South Korea?
The North American audience seemed more… earnest [note: earnest as in sincere/passionate]. There aren’t many concerts abroad, which is why I had that overall impression. So far I’ve rarely been given solo concerts; In Korea, I mostly performed with other artists at concerts where the audience was a mix of fans of several artists. Here in Canada, everyone at the concert is a fan of BewhY or was invited by a BewhY fan.  I’m happy and grateful to know that the audience came solely for me and my performance.

Are there any North American musicians you would like to collaborate with?
First and foremost, I’m a big fan of Kendrick Lamar.  I also like [and would like to collaborate with] Chance the Rapper and Kanye West… there are many but these are the ones I can think of at the moment.

When asked on the topic of musical influence, he credits Jay-Z and his ability to express his energy and move the crowd during his performances.  Other influential artists mentioned include Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and Big K.R.I.T..

Is there anything you would like to say to your North American fans?
These fans took time out of their life to see my performance. Their love and appreciation for my music is something I will never take for granted. I’m truly thankful for my fans. Going forward, I plan to bring better shows and create fresh music for my fans … I’ll be making music that will land on Billboard Charts. I’ll continue to work hard so people will be able to read my name everywhere.

A special thank you to CBM Canada for inviting me to the Vancouver show!
