Up-and-coming R&B artist Knave, who debuted only last year, has released his third single ‘Leave (떠나)‘ today as well as a music video.
Knave gave his debut last year in June with ‘Siigma8‘, which he followed up with ‘Brown Lip‘ in November.
Now, about two months later, he is back to tell a personal story for the first time. The song has a chill guitar riff and lo-fi sounds. He worked on it together with beatmaker Matt Deguia.
In this song, Knave tells of his feelings when he set out to make music. Before starting that long journey with an unknown end, he felt scared and excited, and many thoughts bustled about in his mind. He had to part ways with the people who were closer to reality than to his ideal, as well as with a part of himself that was content but not always happy with how things were. He speaks his mind before starting his journey, saying what he had left unsaid so far.
The issues Knave mentions in his lyrics include being tired from the lonely journey, seeing everything with different eyes, having trouble with interpersonal relationships, missing how everything was before, and feeling eager to reach one’s goal. He hopes that everyone who had to leave on a journey toward their dreams will be able to relate to his words and find comfort in them.
With this song, you will hear a new side of Knave’s. Instead of a charming and soulful voice, he sings in a cool tone that sounds emotional and honest. Watch the music video below!
