Singer Jclef of biscuit haus has released her first LP, ‘flaw, flaw‘, today along with the music video of ‘THE UNCERTAINS’ CLUB (Feat. Meego)’.
Jclef has been uploading her music to SoundCloud for over two years. One year ago, the singer released her debut single ‘multiply‘ which featured FR:EDEN and was produced by dnso!.
Meanwhile, Jclef featured on official tracks by Candid Creation, CHOILB, Rollyboi (now known as Austn), and Lokid.
“Everyone has flaws. However, all are afraid of becoming a part of that ‘everyone.’ They set up standards for being ‘normal’ and force each other to hide and fix any flaw that does not live up to those standards. They cannot embrace the naturalness of human flaws. And that made me angry.
“The work on this album began with that anger. I made it wanting to talk about my personal flaws. ‘flaw, flaw‘ tells the story of me going on a ‘journey’ with nothing but flawed objects, tired from reality. During that journey of embracing flaws I meet someone who embraces me wholly and join them. However, even with that perfect companion I am unable to live as my true self. Full of deficiencies, having lost all standards of what is right and wrong, I decide to live with people who share my language.
Beloved people. With them, I want to build a word where only the feeling of love remains. Ironically though, all I come up with is an ending full of vanity rather than a utopia.
The story of this journey is only about my flaws, their depiction and what happens when they’re shook up.”

Singer RICO of daze alive has released a new single today. Produced by Unsinkable, ‘Come Around (까지까지까지)‘ features electronica artist YESEO.
SLEEQ releases second full-length album, ‘LIFE MINUS F IS LIE’
SLEEQ of DAZE ALIVE has released her second full-length album, ‘LIFE MINUS F IS LIE‘ today, as well as the music video for one of the title tracks, ‘I LOVE U’.
The “one and only” SLEEQ has released her second full-length album today. Her first LP, ‘COLOSSUS’, was crowned The Most Underrated Album of the Year 2017 at the Korean Hiphop Awards. In her new LP, the artist processes all the difficult experiences she went through in the last two years. In the center of the album stands feminism (F), and both SLEEQ and Ryunghwa Kim’s identity as a feminist.
There are ten tracks, including the pre-released ‘Dance for You‘ and two CD-only tracks. SLEEQ received support from CJ Azit’s indie artist foundation ‘Tune Up’, through which she met jazz pianist MeariNam. Other featured artists include singer Dongwook Jin of rookie band DECADENT and singer-songwriter YESEO.
SLEEQ comments on the release (via Instagram), emphasizing her efforts to raise awareness about and abolish misogyny in the Korean culture, especially in hiphop music. She criticizes how Koreans are “going wild over Childish Gambino’s new song in which he criticizes racism in the US-American society, but continue to be quiet about the sexual discrimination in Korean society.” She further expresses her anger “with artists who base their music on discrimination and hate” who “deny [proper] ethics and justify crimes in the name of art” and states that she “would like to keep telling the stories that [she] think[s] are right.” “Even if this decision should be against the music industry’s logic, even if I have to do it in a way that is no longer hiphop […].”

RICO releases new digital single ‘Fruit Juice’
R&B singer RICO of daze alive has released the new single ‘Fruit Juice’ today with contributions from producer Unsinkable, Jerry.k, and EachONE.
RICO‘s first LP ‘The Slow Tape‘ (2015) was nominated for Best R&B/Soul Album and Song at the 13th Korean Music Awards. Just a few hours ago, his second LP ‘WHITE LIGHT PANORAMA‘ and the song ‘Paradise‘ received a nomination in the same categories at this year’s 15th Korean Music Awards.
In December, RICO appeared alongside singer Younha on ‘Hidden Track Number V’. It is a program by Naver Music and V LIVE with the goal to promote less known artists. There, RICO covered not only Christmas carols but also songs like Taemin’s ‘MOVE‘.
Today, the singer returns with a refreshing song that was the finale of that project. The digital single contains a remastered version of the song.
Unsinkable’s dancable beat and RICO’s clear voice create an unexpected coolness in the middle of winter. The lyrics written by daze alive CEO Jerry.k compare an unusual way of loving to ‘Fruit Juice‘. EachONE, who was in charge of the sound of Hidden Track Number V, helped out with the engineering.
The single is currently available on Korean music portals.
