Another year. Another crop of extraordinary hip-hop and R&B albums from South Korea. To keep things simple (and as a challenge to myself), I decided to consolidate these lists into one ultimate list of Top 10 albums from the country. So without any more preamble, I give you my list!

Review of Joo Young’s ‘Fountain’ EP
After what seems a lifetime, R&B vocalist Joo Young returns with his latest EP. ‘Fountain‘ is a simple piece, unfettered with unnecessary flourishes or even over-the-top vocalization. With these six tracks, Joo Young establishes himself as a musical force, quietly slotting himself in (and at times above) his more widely recognized peers.

Singer-songwriter Joo Young has released the mini album ‘Fountain‘ today along with the music video of the title track ‘Dive’. The featured artists are SOLE, G.Soul, and pH-1.
G.Soul releases single ‘I’ll Be There’ as farewell gift
Today, G.Soul of H1GHR MUSIC has released the double single ‘I’ll Be There’. The singer is starting his mandatory military service tomorrow.
Since joining H1GHR MUSIC, G.Soul has released the digital singles ‘Tequila‘ and ‘bad habit‘, as well as the mini album ‘Circles‘. It has been a busy year for G.Soul. Today, one day before he enlists in the military for his mandatory service, he has released a new single as both a Christmas and a farewell gift.
The title track is a song G.Soul came up with on Christmas two years ago but completed only recently. It has a minimal R&B sound and boasts a wintery atmosphere. The artist wants this song to help everyone who is feeling tired and exhausted this winter.
In the second track, ‘No Answer’, G.Soul honestly describes the time when he suffered from depression. No matter how much he searched, he could not find a solution to his situation.
