Huckleberry P - Human Torch (cover art)

Huckleberry P releases digital single ‘Human Torch (Feat. G2)’

In anticipation of his ‘분신 7’ concert, Huckleberry P has dropped the surprise single ‘Human Torch’ today.

Huckleberry P‘s ‘분신’ (read: boon-shin) has become more than just one artist’s solo concert, it is now an iconic part of the Korean hiphop scene. Its name was recently mentioned in the track ‘Rapflicks‘, and its fame is as great as fans’ interest in it. Purchasing a ticket proves to be very difficult, and those who succeed will enjoy the hot atmosphere at the venue. ‘분신’ presents the audience with a joy that they can’t easily find at other concerts. Over three hours of songs, amazing effects on stage, and surprise guests keep everyone on their feet. From conductor to storyteller, Huckleberry P takes up many roles, deeply engraving the experience into the memory of the fans.

This single ‘Human Torch‘ is about the value and effort behind ‘분신’. While the concert’s name translates to ‘one’s alter ego’, it can also mean ‘to set fire to oneself’, which here refers to the fiery passion Huckleberry P has for the concert, thus the song title. The lyrics express how it all started years ago in a small venue and how Huckleberry P kept the concerts going with his stubbornness, confidence, passion, and energy. The rough voice of G2 that can be heard in the hook adds a youthful recklessness to the song. A combination of rock and hiphop, courtesy of producer Kim Park Chella, this song perfectly reproduces the fiery atmosphere of the ‘분신’ concerts.

The concert’s promotion video already featured the instrumental of the track, watch it below!
