SRS 2017 (cover art)

JJK, Olltii, Lugoh, and DJ Kendrickx release single ‘SRS 2017’

To celebrate five years of Street Rap Shit, several members of ADV have released the single ‘SRS 2017’ today.

What started with a street performance by JJK has, in the blink of an eye, turned into the biggest freestyle rap battle of Korean hiphop. S.R.S (Street Rap Shit) is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, so ADV members responsible for the event, JJK, Olltii, Lugoh, and DJ Kendrickx, have released this single as theme song.

Kim Park Chella produced a classic hiphop track that is a perfect fit for the street music culture. JJK and Olltii show off their tight rapping, Lugoh balances it with his hook while DJ Kendrickx adds witty scratches to the mix.

SRS 2017 is taking place in November and December in Seoul, Daegu, and Gwangju. Heat up the cold streets with ADV this winter!

SOMA - THE LETTER (album cover)

Singer-songwriter SOMA releases second mini album ‘THE LETTER’

Alternative R&B singer-songwriter SOMA has released her EP ‘THE LETTER’ with support from YunB, Kidd King, and OLNL, plus the title track’s music video.

SOMA‘s debut EP ‘Somablu‘ came out in February this year. She followed it up with the single ‘같은 밤‘ and the album ‘Midnight in Paris (The Remixes)‘.

In her second mini album ‘THE LETTER‘, she sings about the feelings of love that change with time. From meeting that special person until the breakup, these six songs tell one entire story. Unlike stories of popular love songs, in SOMA’s music the woman has the leading role and is more active. Her feelings, actions, and ideas about relationships aren’t solely egoistic and rather bold. Each song is like one part of a letter that was torn into pieces. The listeners can put these pieces together to form a greater whole.

More diversity is added to the album thanks to talented producer Nuz, up-and-coming artist OLNL, Clarity Crew’s Kidd King, and newcomer YunB of Hi-Lite Records.

Quacy - FIGURE (album cover)

Quacy releases first full-length album ‘FIGURE’

Independent artist Quacy who debuted in 2014 has released his first full-length album along with the title track’s music video today.

In this album, Quacy describes himself as a ‘FIGURE‘ standing in someone’s living-room.

He writes: “I have been idolizing cool artists and wanted to become like them but I couldn’t be like them. Mostly, I’m not cool but just constantly sensitive. This album contains honest little stories that I can tell, a being as small and tiny as a figure.”

All tracks but two were produced by jazz hop producer team A June & J Beat and all mixed and mastered by Aepmah (previously soriheda). As he is not only talented musically but also in art, Quacy designed the album cover himself (visit his Instagram for more of his artworks).
