Intro)
It’s been ten years that I’ve been making music as ‘Paloalto’
I prefer leading instead of doing what others tell me to
I don’t like being forced by others [to do something].
I do my thing
Verse 1)
Is the city’s freedom or justice on my side?
Scram, all of you who try to obstruct me
I’ve always resisted, while nearly everyone
was being swept away without any backbone, I felt the distance
I imbue the music with my soul, hands up everybody
Lead the trained me, oh great Creator
I draw a thick line, not on my wrist but on my heart
For me, there’s no resurrection in only three days after death
This moment comes only once, don’t skip it
I can’t overcome the wall of reality and put my hopes into the bitter cup((= alcohol))
But what is ideal and what is reality?
Is a heavy pocket((= lots of money)) the change I truly want?
Am I who is furious with anger in my right mind?
Will I be able to climb up the stairs to heaven?
Honestly, I’m a bit out of breath, victory seems far away
I think I’m not in for victory but who knows?
Shut up! I said I just enjoyed it
but you say I was wrong with a few words?
I have never been destroyed, but I have received applause
I dream a dream that doesn’t sleep, so I can’t help but stand by it
The inferiority complex of losers is a pain in the ass
Don’t blame me, get out of there
Guys who got together because they can’t stand on their own only look big
I have seen them fall countless times
Hook: Tiger JK)
I’m sick of the usual reply, “Nobody knows”
But even though I try to grab it, the past time goes behind
When I turn to look back, I clearly see the right choices
Why blame myself now? I look ahead again
Cuz time goes by, time gon’ fly
Unlike history books, my rhymes don’t lie
My music resembles me more than anyone
My music resembles me more than anyone
Verse 2)
Our lives look different depending on your way of thinking
If you constrain yourself, they will surely look small
Not trying to shake it off and fly means
that you will receive unsatisfying bonuses for life
A lot of rappers have been forgotten in memories
I’ve seen countless of them leave, although I long
for the dawns we shared, they’ve already become memories
In the end, I cannot forget the things we’ve achieved
I want the new generation to dream a bright dream
Power is useless, do you want to die gloriously?
Those who have it((= power, money)) try to hide their mistakes
You always have to work hard, they((= those with power, money)) try to kill dreams
Are you the same as others who find it((= working hard)) a bother?
Don’t avoid it, look straight at reality
Thoughtlessly made music flows away, like a Twitter timeline
So people always chatter loudly without thinking
To gain, I had to give up a lot of things
Don’t waste your feelings, learn how to hold back anger
Don’t say that you want to know what I really think inside
My music resembles ‘me’ more than anyone
Bridge x2: Tiger JK)
Time goes by, time gon’ fly
Unlike history books, my rhymes don’t lie
My music resembles me more than anyone
My music is ‘me’ more than anyone, what
Hook: Tiger JK)

Danny Chung Interviews Tiger JK and Yoonmirae – Unpretty Rapstar, #BlackLivesMatter, Keith Ape, and More
Last week, Philadelphia based rapper Danny Chung (formerly known as Decipher) interviewed MFBTY (My Fans [Are] Better Than Yours) members Tiger JK and Yoonmirae, where the three discussed about leaving Jungle Entertainment (and the beginnings of Feel Ghood Muzik), their seven year old son Jordan, The Movement Crew, reality shows Show Me the Money & Unpretty Rapstar, Keith Ape, and more.
As a fan of Tiger JK and Tasha (Yoonmirae) since the beginning of my passion for Korean hiphop, I found it refreshing (and enlightening) to listen to the two discuss with Danny Chung about their opinion on the several hot topics of Korean hiphop such as reality shows ‘Show Me The Money’ and ‘Unpretty Rapstar’ (and how it affected the debut of MFBTY), and Keith Ape’s ‘It G Ma’ movement in North America. Dear Tiger JK and Yoonmirae, Will you consider changing your group name?
Everyone recognizes the name Tiger JK. As a pioneer of the first generation of Korean hip-hop, there’s more than a handful of listeners who grew up inspired by the timeless music. Yoonmirae is certainly a leader in that respect as well, as illustrated by her singles which rise to the top of the music chart shortly after their release.
