R&B singer RICO pre-releases digital single ‘Everything’
‘Everything’ is the first single RICO pre-releases off ‘PANORAMA’, the upcoming second part of his new full-length album.
RICO‘s first full-length album ‘The Slow Tape‘ was nominated for Best R&B/Soul Album and Song at the 13th Korean Music Awards. About a month ago he released ‘WHITE LIGHT‘, the first part of his second full-length album. ‘Everything‘ is the first track of the upcoming second part titled ‘PANORAMA’.
The single is a love song produced by rookie R&B singer-songwriter NUZ. On his simple and still beat, RICO expresses feelings of love in his captivating voice. The lyrics compare these feelings to water that bubbles and becomes quiet again. The singer wrote the lyrics together with his labelmates Don Malik and SLEEQ. RICO’s falsetto that appears in the latter half of the song like the remains of breaking waves is the highlight of the song.
The second part of RICO’s second LP, ‘PANORAMA‘, will come out at the end of the month. The CD will additionally contain remixes and bonus tracks.

RICO releases mini album ‘White Light’
R&B boy RICO is back with ‘White Light’, the first part of his second LP, for which he has worked with SOMA, SUMIN, Mild Beats, his labelmates Don Malik and SLEEQ, and more.
RICO‘s first full-length album ‘The Slow Tape‘ was nominated for Best R&B/Soul Album and Song at the 13th Korean Music Awards, now he has released the first part off his second LP.
While the singer’s first album showed his strong roots, the second one is evidence of just how far these roots stretch out. The spectrum this time around is wider than the one of his debut album. The first part ‘White Light‘ gives off lo-fi vibes that meet his slow jam-based style which escaped the 2000s mainstream R&B sounds, resulting in a unique combination.
The main producer of the album is RICO’s labelmate Don Malik. Further participating producers include Mild Beats, Unsinkable, SUMIN, and Livin’ Forest. On their R&B and hiphop grooves, RICO’s singing is sometimes fascinating (‘Paradise‘), at other times careful (‘Sign’) or confident (‘Like This’). Especially the title track ‘Come My Way’ with its danceable guitar riff, heavy rhythm, and rough-sounding ad-libs makes for an unexpectedly refreshing love song that will blow away the remaining heat of the summer.
The last track ‘Interlude’ lingers for a while. It is the connection to the second part of this LP which is expected to be released in mid-September. At that time, a special album will be released on CD which will include not only both parts one and two but also a number of remix tracks.
