UZA & Cat Psalm drop “La Vie En Rose” single & MV
Electronica musician UZA and Cat Psalm, aka Sima Kim, released the single and music video “La Vie En Rose” last week.
The music itself isn’t that important in the industry. Music becomes merely an instrument to make a profit. What’s more important is how to sell it, how to make it fit into the industrial structure. In this sense, music is alienated by the industry, in other words, capitalism. It’s not the end. People are alienated too–artists, audiences, even industry themselves. It was anticipated by Max Horkheimer & Theodor W. Adorno in the early 20th century. More recently, Mark Fisher describes “the widespread sense that not only is capitalism the only viable political and economic system, but also that it is now impossible even to imagine a coherent alternative to it.”
