“The album release concert that was held yesterday comprised of 488 attendees (488 pre-sale, 19 at the doors). After taking out the cost of concert hall rental, budget for my staff and management team, the profit from last night’s show is about 6,000,000 KRW [~$5200 USD].

If we divide this over the 488 people that attended the concert, we have about 12,000 KRW [~$11 USD]. Coincidently, 40% of 30,000 KRW is calculated to be 12,000 KRW.

What I’m trying to say is that I would like to make a refund to everyone who attended the show last night.

On paper, we advertised that in celebration of my new album, the album release concert will have an exclusive setlist with featured artists (which was not revealed up until the actual show).

For that reason, I had [falsely] presumed that the audience wanted to hear my new album, instead of the usual Just Music hit tracks such as Rain Shower, Don, etc. This unfortunate disappointment I left to my audience, who expected me to perform these popular tracks, has left me speechless.

That being said, we did advertise a 100-minute concert, and I’ll take full responsibility for not filling those 100 minutes. I am sorry.

Although the stage lighting and sound quality was out of my hands, I took careful consideration of the arrangement of the tracks and featured artists. I put in a lot of effort to showcase the ten tracks from my new album.

The digitally released album is collectively 47 minutes long, and I anticipated the length of the show, in consideration of our featured guests and intermissions, to be anywhere between 85 to 100 minutes. But I’m not here to make any excuse. Because I understand that 30,000 KRW / 35,000 KRW is not pocket change for a lot of people who attended my show.

Profit was not my intention behind this concert. The album cover I created for each of the ten tracks was sold individually for $1,000 KRW [that’s less than a dollar USD].

Due to the aforementioned mistakes and unfulfilled satisfactions of the audience, I plan to refund 12,000 KRW to the 488 who attended my show last night.

The way in which how I will refund this will be revealed soon.”
