Mnet has officially confirmed that <Show Me the Money> Season 12 is in production. The iconic hip-hop audition program is set to return in 2026 as part of the network’s 30th anniversary.
The new season comes three years after Season 11 ended in December 2022. Production is already underway, and the team is in the final stages of preparing the show. This includes recruiting the new lineup of judges.
A legacy of Korean hip-hop
Show Me the Money launched in 2012 and quickly became a major force in Korean music. Over 11 seasons, it introduced underground artists to the mainstream and helped shape the K-hiphop scene.
The show produced many breakout stars. These include Swings, Mad Clown, Nucksal, Hangzoo, BewhY, and Woo. Its competitive format and wide popularity made it South Korea’s longest-running hip-hop survival series.
Momentum from RAP:PUBLIC and Mnet’s Anniversary
Although the show went on hiatus after 2022, momentum grew again thanks to RAP:PUBLIC. This 2023 hip-hop audition program, co-produced by Mnet and TVING, was well received. Its success gave new energy to the idea of bringing Show Me the Money back.
In March, Shin Hyung-kwan, head of CJ ENM’s Music Content Division, hinted at a possible return. He mentioned during Mnet’s 30th Anniversary Chart Show that “various options” were being explored for Season 12.
What to expect in Season 12
The upcoming season is being designed as a special edition to celebrate Mnet’s 30-year legacy. Reports suggest it will be on a bigger scale than past seasons. Fans can expect fresh talent, exciting battles, and potentially new twists in format.
No official judge announcements have been made yet, but speculation is already growing.
