Brick - Nocturnal (album cover)

R&B artist Brick releases first EP ‘Nocturnal’ and ‘Skip (Ft. Rheehab)’ MV

Independent R&B artist Brick has released his first mini album ‘Nocturnal‘ today, as well as the title track’s music video. Support comes from Rheehab, Ohiorabbit, Lotus, Young Sick, Jay Dope, and more.

This album is made up of four tracks, including Brick‘s debut single ‘Still‘ and the pre-released ‘How You Feel‘. The sounds range from sensitive trapsoul to PBR&B and are dominated by a dark atmosphere, befitting the title.

The lyrics are about various topics like love and the difficulties of making music. Brick’s team mate Young Sick produced the album. The featured artists are Ohiorabbit of Awaken Tongues and juiceoveralcohol, R&B/hiphop artist Rheehab of Dynasty Muzik, and Lotus who flaunts a unique voice.

Rheehab - Toy (cover art)

Rheehab releases new double single ‘Toy’

Following up his successful debut album ‘Rehab‘, Rheehab returns with another double single, ‘Toy‘, featuring fellow crew members Ocean, SLCHLD, and GILLA.

Never at a loss for material, the rapidly rising singer/rapper/songwriter Rheehab returns less than two months after his debut with another double single. With these new tracks, Rheehab deliberately puts his artistic side forward and breaks any conception of being just a commercially-minded artist.

This single features production from the same composer of Rheehab’s ‘whatchaname‘, Gilla. Vocalists and fellow crew members Ocean and SLCHLD also contribute their sultry voices to the album, bringing the dynamics of the music to another level.

Check out the promotional video below! The single is available on Apple Music.

“I hate reality so much that
I slept without looking at my phone
Even if I say in advance that it’s not true,
people don’t believe me
I wanted to escape
I walked through these waves”

SLCHLD - emotions (cover art)

SLCHLD releases first mixtape ’emotions’

Singer SLCHLD has released his first mixtape ’emotions’ for which he worked with many other talented underground artists.

Vancouver-based singer SLCHLD started making music only at the beginning of this year, yet his SoundCloud channel counts a great number of hit tracks. His artist name is short for “Seoul Child,” presumably in reference to his hometown.
SLCHLD has constantly been featured in HiphopKR’s SoundCloud releases of the month. In May he participated in singer JUNNY‘s mini album ‘Monochrome‘.

In his first mixtape, SLCHLD expresses all the ‘emotions‘ that he usually hides. The situations described in the lyrics, pleasant or unpleasant ones, are all written from experience.

Beatmaker GILLA has produced two tracks off the tape and helped with the mastering. He is the one who produced BOiTELLO and OCEAN’s single ‘Wish List‘. This mixtape also includes the hit song ‘call this love’ which HiphopKR featured as one of ‘15 Free SoundCloud Songs You’ll Want to Pay for‘. The song features popular singer Rheehab, who has yet to make his solo debut but already worked with Snacky Chan on the track ‘Netflix & Chill‘. The remaining featured artists are singer OCEAN, rapper RNMK (read: rainmaker) of Paradox, producer OPO of Young&Gift, as well as singers RIPELY and Jclef.

SLCHLD comments:

“This is my first mixtape, ’emotions’. It’s a project about my journey in life, and my ventures in music. There’s a bit of love, happiness, sadness, and melancholic vibes. A huge thanks to everyone who contributed or helped me along the way.

Enjoy.”
