MKIT RAIN Closes the ERR;OR Showcase with a Bang
There was a lot of expectation for the ERR;OR Showcase. With the lineup it was easy to believe it was going to be quite a spectacle. Some of the performances were just that: exciting, tantalizing, outrageous. Others… not so much. When it came time for MKIT RAIN to hit the stage, there was a tangible anxiousness in the crowd. As it turned out, the crew was the perfect way to close the evening.
SXSW Spotlight: Who We’re Excited to See
South by Southwest has invited a number of Korean hip-hop and R&B artists to spotlight. The likes of Epik High, MFBTY, and Crush have all left their unique stamp on the festival. In 2019, the range and diversity of hip-hop and R&B acts has only broadened. Here I give a sneak peek into who I’m really excited to see (and who you should probably check out as well).
niahn releases first mini album, “extape,” and “Broken Hurt” MV
niahn has released his first mini album, “extape,” with producer GRP as well as label mates Loopy and BLOO today.
niahn has made his name known through featurings for MKIT RAIN‘s Loopy and Young West, and as part of the duo neonblue with BLOO.
The artist’s first album contains moody hip-hop tracks made by LA-based producer GRP.

nafla, BLOO, and niahn drop ‘Hollywood’ for Weekly Rain
MKIT RAIN Records’ nafla, BLOO, and niahn have kicked off their label’s Weekly Rain project with the track ‘Hollywood‘.
Two days ago, MKIT RAIN announced the start of a new project. Weekly Rain is, as the name suggests, a project where the label’s artists drop a new track every week. The schedule is as follows:
June 23, 12 PM: nafla, BLOO, niahn
June 30, 12 PM: Loopy, Owen Ovadoz
July 7 and 13, 12 PM: Young West
July 14, 12 PM: Owen Ovadoz
So today is nafla, BLOO, and niahn‘s turn. Their joint track was produced by GRP. You can listen to it on YouTube (see above) or SoundCloud.

neonblue release ‘Henny & Jamie’ EP
MKIT RAIN Records’ BLOO and niahn have released their first mini album as ‘neonblue’ titled ‘Henny & Jamie’.
The project group neonblue are BLOO and niahn. The two first collaborated on the track ‘Maybe‘, then released the single ‘BJ‘ recently which is also included in this album ‘Henny & Jamie‘.
The EP was produced by HDBI who the two artists have been exclusively working with. The cover art was created by the talented Baz Bon and the music video for the title track ‘You and I’ (which you can find below) was directed by Hypnos who has often worked with MKIT RAIN Records, for example on nafla‘s ‘Jail‘ or Owen Ovadoz‘s ‘Glendale‘.
