Alternative beatbox duo PRIMATE drop first full-length album ‘영장류’

PRIMATE, who are 2Tak and Lupang, have released their first full-length album ‘영장류‘ today. It features various artists like Hunger Noma, Don Mills, New Champ, Saul Goode, and Chris Lyon.

PRIMATE released their first single and music video ‘Mental‘ in 2016. In 2017 they then dropped ‘Benjaminbarker’. Both singles were pre-releases of the full-length album that came out today. Its Korean title translates to ‘primate/s’.

2Tak and Lupang are two of South Korea’s best beatboxers. Their career was no smooth sailing but their path as independent artists finally led them to this album. Eleven artists supported the duo’s work, including Vitality‘s Hunger Noma, VMC‘s Don Mills and Saul Goode, and US-American artist Tank Head.

Hunger Noma releases new single ‘Taecho Maeul’

Rapper Hunger Noma of Vitality has released the digital single ‘Taecho Maeul‘ today.

“A fairly new and quiet town. It’s a small and pretty place.”

The title of this song is the Korean name of ‘Pallet Town‘ which appears in the Pokémon games. It is the hometown of many main characters and the place where they start their journey.
In the lyrics of his track, Hunger Noma raps about adventures, challenges, and freedom, reminding the listener of their innocent view on the world as a child. The bold and powerful sentences reference positive human characteristics like inquisitiveness and hopefulness. Anyone who has played Pokémon before will especially like this track as some expressions will make you think of the game scenes right away.

The hometown that we leave and will return to. Maybe there is more to Hunger Noma’s lyrics.
