Fana founds cultural space ‘The Ugly Junction’

The so-called “fun-earning business” The Ugly Junction has founded a cultural space of the same name in Mapo-gu, Gwangheungchang.

Establishing this personal and independent cultural space for creators has always been a dream of The Ugly Junction since its foundation in 2010. The cultural space will be used for various things like planning, concerts and ceremonies, of course musical groups, exhibitions, screenings, lessons, seminars, workshops, flee markets, and so on.

The Ugly Junction’s manager Fana said, “The ‘wild’ environment for independent creators has fallen apart, only the big media are dominating with large-scale omnibus events, or shows like Show Me The Money and Unpretty Rapstar. And those are shown as the only way of survival. So seeing young people feel inferior to that, I felt the urgent need to help them and hurried with founding the cultural space. Even if it’s not much, I will fully support the building of an ‘autonomous ecosystem’ for cultural creators.”

After some preparation time, ‘The Ugly Junction’ will officially start operating on July 18 with an opening event, in the week before on July 10, ‘The Ugly Junction’ will open temporarily for ‘Fana & Kim Park Chella Band’ and ‘NP Union’s concert.

‘The Ugly Junction’ is located in Gwangheungchang, within a five-minutes walking distance from exit 4. More detailed information can be found and will be updated on their Facebook.
