New Champ releases single ‘Microphone Machine Gunner’
Today, New Champ has released a new single that includes two songs: ‘Microphone Machine Gunner’ and ‘대세 (Psy형)’ featuring Don Mills and BewhY.
Tracklist and credits:
01. Microphone Machine Gunner
Lyrics by New Champ
Produced and mixed by Frequency
02. 대세 (Psy형) [The Trend (Psy-hyung)] (Feat. Don Mills, BewhY)
Lyrics by New Champ, Don Mills, BewhY
Produced and mixed by Lee Joon-ki, Kim Hyemin
The first track begins with a wounded-sounding piano melody that creates an emotional atmosphere but then a strong boom bap beat sets in and New Champ shows off his naturally tough ‘bad boy’ rap. The impressive thing about the song is that he keeps rapping for all the five parts of the 3.15 minutes.
The second track is about who’s going to be the next Psy and represent South Korea worldwide. It is a trap song with crazy rapping. New Champ’s verse here is 100% freestyle and its spontaneity adds to the craziness of the track.
