The “female MC from hell,” SLEEQ, has released ‘MA GIRLS’, a tribute of courage to her girls.
With her first full-length album ‘COLOSSUS‘, and the mixtape ‘FOMMY HILTIGER‘ together with Don Malik, rapper SLEEQ of daze alive music has gained herself an unrivaled position in the Korean hiphop scene.
In 2016 she made an appearance on Mic Swagger II alongside Don Malik where she called herself “hella feminist,” making a statement about the discrimination of women and sexual minorities.
Her new single ‘MA GIRLS’ is a track she first performed in Daegu on March 8 at an event celebrating International Women’s Day. It is a passionate slogan dedicated to feminism, a topic that has recently risen to one of the central issues in South Korean society. From her own point of view and in her own words, SLEEQ says: “We will become each other’s courage.”
On the at times melancholic but strong and at other times eloquent beat, SLEEQ dedicates her rap to all the women who helped her gain courage to raise her voice.
