Hippy was Gipsy - Language (album cover)

Hippy was Gipsy release second full-length album ‘Language’

Critically acclaimed duo Hippy was Gipsy have released their second full-length album ‘Language (언어)‘ today. The eleven tracks feature CIFIKA, Jjangyou, Hwaji, jeebanoff, and Kim Oki.

Hippy was Gipsy (히피는 집시였다) are producer Jflow of WAVISABIROOM and singer Sep. The two released their debut album ‘Island‘ in February 2017 and their first full-length album ‘Tree‘ in June. The LP was awarded The Best R&B/Soul Album at the Korean Music Awards this year and won the award for The Best R&B Album at the 2nd Korean Hiphop Awards.

Not even a year later, the two artists return with a new full-length album. Yesterday, the music video for ‘Record‘ was pre-released, and a music video for the title track ‘Bed’ is going to follow soon.

Jflow comments on the album release:

“Language is originally used to express oneself, so could you say that all the expressions in this world are not language?
Instead of deliberately delving into the topic of ‘language’, we just sort of looked around, walking around it.
Lay back and listen to the album. In the end, there is no correct answer.
Everything you think of is the correct answer.
Language; not more, not less.”

You can find Hippy was Gipsy’s second LP on iTunes/Apple Music. It is also going to be available on CD soon.

Django - Seoul Jazz (album cover)

Django releases first full-length album ‘Seoul Jazz’

“It’s not the note you play that’s the wrong note – it’s the note you play afterwards that makes it right or wrong.”
-Miles Davis

“This quote reminds of our lives. Life is a continuation of choices and each depends on the choice before. I tried to express the various feelings and stories I’ve experienced in the city I live in, Seoul; loneliness, glory, love, and reconciliation.” -Django

Django pre-released this album’s title track ‘Play On Playa’ in 2016, which was his debut single. ‘Seoul Jazz‘ (February 2017) was the second pre-release.
For his first LP, the producer received support from his label mates and many other artists, including “cameos” by Just Music’s Han Yohan and indie producer Charming Lips. They both helped out with their guitar skills.
