Female rapper Cat B has released her first mini album ‘12 To 16‘ today, a record of her life and feelings from 2012 to 2016.
Cat B tells about various episodes of growing pains from her late teens to her mid-twenties. The uniform and microphone on the cover represent her youth.
The first track ‘Sendai’ begins with romantic memories of Japan, ‘누워서 쓰는 일기’ (lit. writing in my diary while lying down) is about Yoo Young-eun (Cat B’s real name) having to give up her dream because of a health issue but finding a new hope, ‘M5107’ is the number of the bus she dragged her tired self into every morning and then there are ‘온실속 화초’ (The Flowers in the Greenhouse) and ’12 to 16′ in which the artist looks back on her immature feelings and experiences from when she was younger .. Every song reflects her reality. Looking at it this way, Cat B has probably made this mini album more for her own sake than for anyone else’s. After all, the first and foremost goal a creator has to be devoted to is their own satisfaction.
