Dok2 clears $490K tax debt, prepares for musical comeback

|

Korean rapper Dok2 has officially paid off over ₩672 million (approx. $490,000 USD) in overdue taxes, ending a public controversy that placed him on the National Tax Service’s list of major delinquents.

The unpaid amount included comprehensive income tax, local taxes, and health insurance premiums. Dok2 was first listed in 2022 due to unpaid taxes totaling ₩332 million. In 2023, it was further revealed that he had defaulted on ₩22 million in health insurance dues.

Best known for co-founding Illionaire Records and helping to shape the modern K-hip hop scene, Dok2 had faced criticism after flaunting luxury cars and large amounts of cash on TV shows like I Live Alone. These images clashed with reports of his unpaid taxes, drawing public scrutiny.

Now, with his tax liabilities resolved, the rapper is focused on a fresh chapter. According to industry insiders, Dok2 is currently working on new music and preparing for an official comeback. While no release date has been confirmed, fans can expect announcements soon.
