Tabber has released his new single “New Moon,” a 2xxx-produced track that pulls his writing back into the dark.

“New Moon” opens with one of the song’s clearest images: “How can you love me in a hurricane?” From there, Tabber builds the record around disaster and intimacy, using earthquakes, flames, landslides, stars, and darkness as the emotional weather around a relationship that feels consuming rather than calm.

The title gives the song its centre of gravity. A new moon is a moment of darkness rather than illumination, and Tabber writes from inside that absence. The track does not reach for a dramatic vocal peak. It stays close to the body, letting his voice move through the production with a restrained pull.

That restraint is where Tabber often works best. Since his Deep End Mixtape era, he has been tied to a style of Korean R&B that feels atmospheric without becoming weightless. His catalogue includes songs such as “007” featuring Syd, “Chi-Ka” featuring DEAN, and the 2023 album Madness Always Turns to Sadness, situating him among Korea’s more distinct alternative R&B voices.

On “New Moon,” the chemistry with 2xxx keeps the song spare but cinematic. The production leaves enough space for Tabber’s writing to carry the mood: desire under pressure, closeness in the dark, and the strange clarity that can arrive when everything else disappears.

Tabber – “New Moon” is out now.
