TRADE L, Nosun & MilliMax Release “NEW AMBITION SOUND!”

TRADE L, Nosun, and MilliMax release “NEW AMBITION SOUND!,” connecting AMBITION MUSIK’s current roster to ILLIONAIRE’s legacy through a direct callback to “A Better Tomorrow.”

TRADE L, Nosun, and MilliMax have released “NEW AMBITION SOUND!” alongside an official music video through AMBITION MUSIK.

The track opens with a pointed callback to ILLIONAIRE RECORDS’ “A Better Tomorrow,” using The Quiett’s spoken intro about rejecting limits and wanting to see how far ambition can go. “A Better Tomorrow” appeared on ILLIONAIRE RECORDS’ 2014 album 11:11, with HiphopKR’s translated lyrics documenting the intro as The Quiett’s statement of persistence, self-belief, and ambition.

That reference gives “NEW AMBITION SOUND!” a clear frame. AMBITION MUSIK was originally launched from the ILLIONAIRE lineage, with The Quiett explaining in a 2016 interview that the label was created to give newer artists more freedom while still carrying Dok2 and The Quiett’s direction forward.

On the song itself, TRADE L, Nosun, and MilliMax do not treat that history as something distant. The hook states it plainly: “It’s a new AMBITION sound.” From there, the verses move through contract-signing, pressure, watches, money, survival, and the everyday grind of trying to build from the bottom without losing forward motion.

TRADE L’s opening section sets the tone with the line, “It was so damn hard / But signed the contract, I did it,” placing the record in the language of arrival. Nosun and MilliMax follow by leaning into the label name directly: ambition as work, ambition as lifestyle, and ambition as the thing that keeps the artists moving even when the route is uncertain.

The lyrics also tie the new generation back to AMBITION’s existing roster and language. The track namechecks The Quiett, Leellamarz, Don Malik, and the wider “A-M-B-I-T-I-O-N gang,” making the song feel like a roster statement. MilliMax’s appearance is also notable following his recent AMBITION MUSIK debut EP milli, which included features from ZENE THE ZILLA, Nosun, TRADE L, Hash Swan, and Suen.

“NEW AMBITION SOUND!” works because it understands the weight of the sample it uses. The Quiett’s words from “A Better Tomorrow” were originally tied to ILLIONAIRE’s rise, but here they become a handoff. TRADE L, Nosun, and MilliMax are not copying that era. They are using it as a starting point for their own.

The official music video for “NEW AMBITION SOUND!” is out now.
