J;KEY drops new single ‘Blue Picasso (Feat. D-Hack, ZENE THE ZILLA)’

Independent artist J;KEY has released his new single ‘Blue Picasso‘ today with support from his crew mates D-Hack and ZENE THE ZILLA.

J;KEY is a member of KINGdumbs and YTC4LYF. Since his debut in 2014 he has been working as an independent artist, talented not only in rapping but also in production and art. He has released six singles and three mini albums, the latest being ‘LOVE ME IF YOU DARE‘ (2016).

For this new single, J;KEY was inspired by Picasso’s so-called “Blue Period” in which the artist painted in various shades of blue. The cause of this could have been the suicide of his friend.
J;KEY felt connected to and comforted by the atmosphere and texture of the paintings from the Blue Period, which are very different from Picasso’s best known works.

“I felt that no matter what state I am in, it is important that I represent my current self as I please. So, without any prior planning, I started working on the spur of the moment and the result was this song.
“For nearly one year and a half I have been trying out various styles to find the one that fits me best, and this track is one of those attempts. In my previous works I concentrated on the narrative, on storytelling, but from now on I will be concentrating on what I enjoy creating and listening to.”

The track features J;KEY’s KINGdumbs Crew mate D-Hack and YTC4LYF Crew mate ZENE THE ZILLA. Preview it below!
