Jerry.k who stands at the frontline of conscious rap about discrimination and hate has released his new album ‘OVRWRT’ today.
Jerry.k‘s fourth full-length album ‘Emotional Labor‘ (released in March) was nominated at the Korean Music Awards 2017. The artist has released many conscious rap tracks, he’s performed at the candlelight protests, and he has constantly voiced his opinion about issues like Show Me The Money’s influences on the rap game or the daily discrimination of minorities. To some he is an uncomfortable person, to others he represents positive change.
Now, the artist Jerry.k has returned with the new album ‘OVRWRT‘.
As the title hints at, in this album Jerry.k explains the process and result of overwriting the past instead of separating himself from it. Sometimes melancholically, at other times aggressively, he describes the gap that exists between him and the world. His way of expression received influences from his daze alive label mates, thus his narrative became more straightforward.
The album features daze alive’s SLEEQ and Don Malik, as well as up-and-coming R&B/blues singer Horim, and Legit Goons‘ new member JaeDal. The tracks were produced by the likes of FIRST AID and KINGBNJMN.
