Chapter 11 is actually not a chapter but a special, because the webtoon has made it into the Best Challenge! The Best Challenge is a selection of the best challenge webtoons, as the name implies, the ones that received a huge amount of likes and a good rating.
So, in this special DP TV is back to tell us readers about their work process.
In the beginning, Klassik once more reminds us that the webtoon’s goal is to show the every-day life of Korean underground rappers, and also lets us know that there are more characters to come and that the story will officially start now that the main character Doosik has found a place to live. He also emphasizes that Doosik is nothing but an example of a Korean rapper, it does not mean that a Korean rapper is “crap” if he’s not like Doosik. Last but not least, he mentions that all the real rappers who appear in the webtoon gave him permission beforehand.
Now on to the work progress. Klassik writes the story and dialog which T-rex then checks critically (“This is not suited for minors”, “Doosik seems too much like a gangster,” etc.). After fixing everything, T-rex draws the first draft and it’s Klassik’s turn to check it (“Hey, the pants are too small!” “What’s with that gesture? Don’t you know hiphop?!” “Women are all about the lower body, draw the asses bigger!”).
When that is fixed as well, T-rex draws the chapter in three parts which Klassik colors (he has been learning Photoshop for two months). After two or three days, they are finished and the final stage of work begins which takes another two to three days and consists of T-rex doing the shading and drawing the backgrounds. Meanwhile, Klassik already works on the next chapter’s story and everything starts over from the beginning.
Chapter 09 had BGM, and the two inform us of its production process as well: Klassik chooses an instrumental and writes the lyrics (“I am Doosik!”). Then Jager makes the beat and the other two artists (Kay and Park Sangwook) write the lyrics for their parts. After recording, XenomiX mixes the song and it’s done. However, since only official webtoons can have BGM, T-rex had to make a video out of everything. That is why the chapter with BGM took two weeks.
Finally, the two promise that they will keep doing their best and thank everyone for liking, rating, and clicking on their webtoon so that they made it into the Best Challenge.
