SXSW Spotlight: Who We’re Excited to See

South by Southwest has invited a number of Korean hip-hop and R&B artists to spotlight. The likes of Epik High, MFBTY, and Crush have all left their unique stamp on the festival. In 2019, the range and diversity of hip-hop and R&B acts has only broadened. Here I give a sneak peek into who I’m really excited to see (and who you should probably check out as well).

Here’s your chance to win a pair of GA tickets for the upcoming HEAD IN THE CLOUDS festival!

HiphopKR will be giving out a pair of GA tickets for the upcoming festival which is taking place September 22, 2018, in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles State Historic Park. The festival’s lineup includes Rich Brian, Joji, Keith Ape, Higher Brothers, NIKI, and a host of special guests including Zion.T, Yung Bans, and Dumbfoundead. General admission and VIP tickets are now on sale here.

HOW TO ENTER OUR CONTEST

Here’s how to enter our exclusive contest (read carefully and follow all instructions):

ON INSTAGRAM:
  1. Share the Instagram post on your account (be sure to tag @hiphopkr on the photo)
  2. Comment on THIS post with the following:

Contest will run between August 25 and September 7, and the winner will be announced on September 9. Only one winner will be selected for a total of two General Admission tickets.

 

ABOUT HEAD IN THE CLOUDS

Head In The Clouds will be a full day music and arts festival in downtown Los Angeles and the ultimate live manifestation of 88rising’s fast rise in music and youth culture – bringing the new definitive experience celebrating music and art from the East and West.

“Having our own music festival in LA is a dream come true and something we have always wanted to happen. 88rising means “double happiness” and that’s what we intend to bring to the live experience for years to come with this festival. In the same vein, 88rising is announcing its debut 88rising group album, also called Head In The Clouds, due for a summer release. Head In The Clouds will feature new original music from Rich Brian, Joji, Higher Brothers, NIKI, AUGUST 08, and special guest features. You can hear a snippet from the album featuring Joji in the festival trailer up top.

Indonesian rapper Rich Brian says, “We wanted to make a timeless record, and really create the soundtrack of summer, because summer is a feeling, a whole vibe.” 88rising labelmate Joji says, “Head In The Clouds is crazy people getting together and making even crazier stuff.”
