Rudeka - Sober (cover)

Rudeka releases album ‘SOBER’

After his absence due to receiving medical treatment, Rudeka has returned to the scene today with his new free album ‘SOBER’.

‘SOBER’ is dedicated to Tiger JK who Rudeka respects deeply. All eight tracks were produced by Rudeka himself and address his daily anguish. The album features Rudeka’s long-time friend Young Kid, and Shijung (시정) who has often worked with him before.
The artist commented: “Although there are only eight tracks [which is little compared to Rudeka’s earlier releases], the album’s organic structure and the homages to Drunken Tiger will have listeners enjoy the music.”

Hojae releases first R&B mini album ‘City of Night’

R&B singer and songwriter Hojae has released his first mini album ‘City of Night’.

It is made up of three tracks: the title track ‘잊을수 없는 밤’ [Unforgettable Night], ‘모습’ [Figure], and ‘자기전에’ [Before Sleeping] which came out during Hojae’s time as Gray City.

The title track is about flirting with a girl at a bar. It is a sweet PBR&B track with a dreamy sound and arrangement to which the word ‘night’ fits well. The arrangement and the melody seem mainstream but also not, and on top of them are the vocals that sound like rap but also not.
The track ‘모습’ [Figure] is about the figure of the woman he loves and the last track ‘자기전에’ [Before Sleeping] is about wallowing in memories while looking at the KakaoTalk profile picture of an ex-girlfriend.

CROQ - Empty (cover)

CROQ releases first single ‘Empty’

Rapper CROQ’s first single ‘휑해’ [Empty] has been released today.
CROQ has been evolved not only in the track’s lyrics and composition, but also in its arrangement and artwork. The song tells of the pain, longing, and emptiness after a break-up. All in all, it is very dreamy and beautiful but on the opposite also gives you an empty feeling somehow.
CROQ received help arranging it from producer and guitarist Han Yohan, who has worked with artists like Geeks, Nochang, and Block B, and his producer colleague Yuh Bitna.
Look forward to rapper and singer-songwriter CROQ’s various musical experiments.

YDG releases new single ‘Jump Down (젊 다운)’ feat. Ivy

After about 1 year and 5 months, all-round talent YDG has released a new digital single titled ‘Jump Down (젊 다운)’.
After trying trendy hiphop last year in february with ‘YDG Series Vol.1 JAJAJA’, YDG is once again trying out a new genre. This time, with his ‘YDG Series Vol.2 Jump Down’, he gives a try at electronic dance music (EDM).

‘Jump Down’ refers to diving and ‘젊 다운’, which sounds very similar, means ‘youthful’. The song’s message is to not just be satisfied with the things you can have for free but to always challenge to get what you want.
Even on the fast EDM beat, you can feel YDG’s groovy rap and have fun listening to his witty lyrics. Ivy’s refreshing high vocals help you enjoy this hot summer.

Beck Bum releases free mixtape ‘720’

Beck Bum has released the mixtape ‘720’. The title comes from Beck Bum’s birthday which is July 20, implying that he is reborn as a rapper.

To implement the mixtape’s theme, he worked with a beat selection of various styles. Supporting him with featurings are Kasper and SQUALLA, mixing and mastering was done by 187, and the artwork was contributed by Spino.
