DAZE ALIVE to hold 4th Anniversary Concert ‘D4’

DAZE ALIVE, who are Jerry.k, SLEEQ, Rico, and Don Malik, are celebrating their fourth anniversary with the concert ‘D4’.

Jerry.k foundead DAZE ALIVE on July 27, 2013 with rapper SLEEQ and singer Rico. Don Malik joined the label in 2014.

At their ‘UNLIVED‘ concert in May, DAZE ALIVE showed great performances where the members sang and rapped each other’s songs. For ‘D4’, the four artists are preparing even greater performances centered around each artist’s signature song. Plus, Rico will sing numerous songs off his second full-length album that is going to be released this summer.

D4‘ will be lead by DJ and producer LOBOTOME of YOUNG, GIFTED & WACK and Overclass Crew so that the entire concert will feel like a DJ set. In order to bring even more entertaining and flashy performances, South Korea’s top VJ and engineering team were hired as well.

The concert will take place on July 29 (Saturday) at 6PM at Red Box of Platform Chang Dong 61 which boasts the best sound and lightning systems. Tickets can be pre-ordered one month earlier, starting June 29 (Thursday) at 6PM via Naver Booking.

SLEEQ - MA GIRLS (album cover)

SLEEQ releases single and MV ‘MA GIRLS’

The “female MC from hell,” SLEEQ, has released ‘MA GIRLS’, a tribute of courage to her girls.

With her first full-length album ‘COLOSSUS‘, and the mixtape ‘FOMMY HILTIGER‘ together with Don Malik, rapper SLEEQ of daze alive music has gained herself an unrivaled position in the Korean hiphop scene.

In 2016 she made an appearance on Mic Swagger II alongside Don Malik where she called herself “hella feminist,” making a statement about the discrimination of women and sexual minorities.

Her new single ‘MA GIRLS’ is a track she first performed in Daegu on March 8 at an event celebrating International Women’s Day. It is a passionate slogan dedicated to feminism, a topic that has recently risen to one of the central issues in South Korean society. From her own point of view and in her own words, SLEEQ says: “We will become each other’s courage.”
On the at times melancholic but strong and at other times eloquent beat, SLEEQ dedicates her rap to all the women who helped her gain courage to raise her voice.

Don Malik To Perform At SXSW 2017

Earlier this week, Korean hip-hop label DAZE ALIVE announced that Don Malik will be holding his first international performance at SXSW 2017 in Austin, Texas.  Here’s everything you need to know about this talented artist!

SLEEQ x Don Malik - 이륙 (album cover)

SLEEQ X Don Malik release single ‘이륙’

SLEEQ and Don Malik of DAZE ALIVE have pre-released a single off their upcoming mixtape ‘FOMMY HILTIGER (파미힐티거)‘.

In 2016, SLEEQ released her first full-length album ‘COLOSSUS‘ and Don Malik the EP ‘TRIBEAST‘, for which both received positive reviews. They recently made an appearance on Mic Swagger Season 2 together that got fans hyped, praising their skills and lyrics.
Their single ‘이륙(Take-Off) is made up of two tracks, the first one being ‘Wonderland (feat. RICO, JERRY.K)‘. Alluding to dead artists and unrealistic movies, it brings into reality the lifestyle one lives in order to reach the place that only exists in one’s fantasies.  The retro disco track was made by producer Twoton Rhino (member of Nahzam Sue and The Big Waves) and it features all members of DAZE ALIVE. The second track ‘이륙’ (Take-Off) was produced by newcomer jnkfood and is about wanting to fly away somewhere, escaping life’s various pressures. Don Malik and SLEEQ’s different ways of expression and emotions are especially impressive.

SLEEQ and Don Malik’s mixtape ‘FOMMY HILTIGER’ will be released mid-January via SoundCloud for free.

Track List & Credits:
  1. Wonderland (feat. RICO, JERRY.K)
    Produced by Twoton Rhino
Lyrics by DON MALIK, RICO, SLEEQ, JERRY.K
Guitar, synth bass, keyboards, and drums by Twoton Rhino
  2. 이륙 (Take-Off)
    Produced by jnkfood
    Lyrics by DON MALIK, SLEEQ
