Soul One - SouLonely (album cover)

Soul One releases first full-length album ‘SouLonely’

Singer Soul One has released his first full-length album ‘SouLonely‘ yesterday with support by Coke Jazz, Satbyeol, Huckleberry P, Hwaji, and Paloalto. The music video for the title track ‘Thank U’ has come out as well.

Singer Soul One debuted in 2008 with the single ‘No More’. In 2016 he and EachOne collaborated on the full-length album ‘Blue Dream‘ and most recently on the single ‘Purple (Feat. Born Kim)‘.

There are several types of music. Easy listening, music that you dance to, music that touches you deeply, and music that helps you concentrate.
Then, there is Soul One’s first full-length album, which is somewhere in between all those categories. It is the type of music that sounds unfamiliar.

“Soul” stands for a music genre as well as for the determination to always keep a pure soul. “One” represents the will to be number one in a specific field, but also for simply being the one and only. Thus, Soul One is the one and only soul.

This album is about that soul’s loneliness. Its songs are all fortright and honest. The singer received support from Cohort producer Coke Jazz, singer Satbyeol, rapper Hwaji, and his former Hi-Lite label mates Huckleberry P and Paloalto.

Huckleberry P - One of Them (cover art)

Huckleberry P releases single ‘One of Them (Feat. JUSTHIS & EK)’

With his new single ‘One of Them’ Huckleberry P suggests an alternative to those who want to be different from everyone else.

Not long before his famous solo concert ‘분신 7’, Hi-Lite Records artist Huckleberry P is releasing a new single.

Only about two weeks ago, Huckleberry P already surprised fans with the single ‘Human Torch (Feat. G2)‘. Another surprise comes with ‘One of Them‘, which also attracts attention due to the interesting collaboration: There is JUSTHIS who is doing his thing as persistent as Huckleberry P, and EK of the team M.B.A (Most Badass Asian) who have been in the spotlight recently.
On top of these two featured artists, producer UGP, who has often worked with Hi-Lite Records, produced the track. On his beat, these three artists with their strong characters spit their verses as if they were competing with each other.

These artists who represent the antipode of SMTM, which has helped many rappers reach success quickly, demonstrate a good example for a different kind of success in this music scene as they prove themselves once again.

“‘I don’t wanna be one of them,
I want to be different from y’all’
Using the word ‘honesty’ you earn money,
and say that’s ‘cool’
Honestly, y’all have never been honest”

‘One of Them’ Credits:

Written and performed Huckleberry P, JUSTHIS, EK
Composed and arranged by UGP

G2, Paloalto, Huckleberry P - single 'Rapflicks' (cover art)

G2, Paloalto, and Huckleberry P release single ‘Rapflicks’

‘Rapflicks’, originially a video co-production by THECUT and Hi-Lite Records, is now available as a digital single.

With the single ‘Rapflicks‘, G2, Paloalto, and Huckleberry P show off their dynamic teamwork as Hi-Lite Records label mates. The fast back and forth between the three rappers within one verse lets listeners enjoy the best of rap. When the song came out in September via THECUT’s YouTube channel, the response from listeners was so positive that it now received an official release.

In the song, the three artists express what it’s like being in the spotlight and what comes with that role: Strangers on the street asking for pictures acting like they know them based on TV appearances that do not reflect the reality of who they really are. This track sums up the misconceptions created by media which translates to fast pace trends that may not properly represent artists.

Underground producer Holymoley! co-composed and arranged this track. He previously produced ‘YES YES YEAH‘ for Jerry.k and a song off NO:EL‘s first LP ‘ELLEONOEL‘.

Single ‘Rapflicks’ Credits:

Produced by Holymoley!, G2, Paloalto, Huckleberry P
Lyrics written by G2, Paloalto, Huckleberry P
Composed by Holymoley!, Paloalto
Arranged by Holymoley!
