Rapper Danny Roots who released his first mixtape ‘Sketches from the Nightmare‘ just two months ago has now made his official debut.
After a lengthy process, a single cell becomes a complex entity, a body. Just the same, our thoughts go through several processes to form one complex set of values.
The album title ‘Retrograde‘ expresses Danny Roots’ wish to understand himself even better by retrograding the elements of his memories. He dialectically looks back on his past mental states like insomnia, lethargy, depression and paranoia, and describes the process of repenting and disclaiming those in order to obtain a new state of mind. However, just like anything else, a full stop seemingly regresses and becomes a new starting point.
