Epik High leader Tablo creates new hip-hop label under YG Entertainment

|

It was recently announced that Epik High member Tablo will be creating a new hip-hop label. This recent movement is supported by YG Entertainment’s CEO Yang Hyun-suk who is designating Tablo as the forefront of the new label.

According to the CEO, the new sub-label is intended to accommodate potential musicians wanting to pursue hip-hop under the YG label. As a lyricist, producer, composer and all-encompassing musician with vast knowledge of the Korean underground hip-hop culture and scene, Tablo will be the forefront of this new label.

Furthermore, Yang Hyun-suk stated that “…as exemplified by groups like 1TYM and Jinusean, YG’s roots have always been with hip-hop. I hope that this new hip-hop label will provide a medium for underground hip-hop artists to grow and succeed in the scene.”

Shortly after the announcement of the new label, Tablo celebrated the 6th “anniversary” of his former independent label Map The Soul:
